Rebirth in the Interstellar Meow Meow Meow 150

The Sudden War

Ruan Fengsi stormed into his office, and as expected, found his younger sister already waiting for him.

He chose to selectively ignore his grandfather’s presence.

“Big Brother.”

Ruan Shu’s eyes lit up when she saw him. Before she could even stand, he was already by her side, and in the next second, she was lifted off the ground.

Ruan Shu: “???”

“What are you doing?”

Ruan He gave his grandson a slap on the head, unceremoniously.

Ruan Fengsi sighed, “Someone betrayed me, causing me to lose a 300 million deal.”

His tone held a trace of uncharacteristic grievance.

Just thinking about it made Ruan Fengsi angry. He ruffled his sister’s fluffy little head, which somehow eased his frustration.

“It’s not even about the money; I’m just mad that idiot dared to betray me. Wasn’t the compensation I provided good enough? I paid him 100,000 a month, plus year-end bonuses and all sorts of benefits, and yet he had the audacity to betray me!”

Being backstabbed by his own people was something he couldn’t tolerate, which was the main reason he was so furious today.

Ruan Shu’s eyes went wide. Three… three hundred million?

That’s an astronomical amount!

But her brother was truly upset, so she decided to just be a good mascot and let him hold her. She thought about it, then turned herself into a plush ragdoll cat, curling into a fluffy ball in her big brother’s arms.

Holding a fluffy cat was the best comfort when feeling down~

The ragdoll cat even rubbed against her big brother’s hand with her cheek, purring as if to soothe him.

Ruan Fengsi squeezed her little paw and rubbed her cheeks, feeling much better.

Sure enough, when he was unhappy, holding and petting his sister helped dispel any gloomy emotions.

Ruan He, with his fiery temper, scoffed, “That’s your own foolishness. Why keep someone like that around? Where is he?”

Not only did Ruan Fengsi despise traitors, but Ruan He, once a commander, loathed betrayal even more.

At the mention of the man, Ruan Fengsi’s face darkened again. “As soon as we found out, the Sun family took him away. We still haven’t tracked down where they sent him.”

Moreover, because of his betrayal, one of their company’s technologies had been leaked.

Ruan Fengsi grew even angrier, and as he drank tea, he shattered the teacup in his hand.

Ruan Shu looked at his other hand, still holding her paw: “….”

Should she retract it or…?

Before she could decide, she was suddenly lifted up, and a face pressed against her fluffy back.

Ruan Fengsi rubbed his face against the cat’s soft fur, feeling a lot better.

“It’s okay. I’ll avenge this betrayal one day.”

Ruan He: “What are we waiting for? Go now and give them a beating! You need to learn a thing or two from your third brother. He avenges grievances on the spot—no evidence needed, just find a reason to teach the guy a lesson. Even if he runs into him later, he’ll beat him up again, just to make sure he’s learned his place.”

Ruan Fengsi, also feeling stifled, stood up. He’d held back before due to the lack of evidence, but now, after hearing his grandfather’s words, he was fired up.

No evidence? Fine, he’d just find a reason to take action.

Watching her grandfather and big brother go from talking to arguing and now about to leave to start a fight, Ruan Shu was left speechless. “…”

“Shushu, you stay here. Things might get a bit chaotic if you come along.”

Ruan Fengsi nodded, giving the little cat a long pet from head to tail, reluctantly setting her down at last.

Before Ruan Shu could even react, her grandfather and big brother had already disappeared.

Ruan Shu: “…”

Ruan Shu: “!!!”

She quickly jumped off the sofa and rushed to chase after them, but just as she reached the door, it opened. A female secretary, eyes shining, scooped up the snow-white cat.

“Miss Ruan Shu, the president asked me to take care of you. Do you want something to eat? Or drink?”

Ruan Shu quickly transformed back into her human form, “Where did Grandpa and Big Brother go?”

“The president and Mr. Ruan took some people to find trouble with someone. Don’t worry; they won’t go overboard. The Star Police will probably show up shortly once the fight starts.”

Ruan Shu: “…”

She felt even more worried!

But apart from being anxious, there didn’t seem to be anything else she could do.

She didn’t have much of an appetite, so she just hugged a plush qilin in the office. The computer in front of her was playing her favorite cartoon, but she was too distracted to watch it.

The thoughtful secretary even prepared various snacks popular with children, along with her favorite dried fish.

Well, maybe she could nibble on a bit of dried fish.

Ruan Shu absentmindedly chewed on the fish, wondering if she should call her grandfather and big brother, though she feared disturbing them.

Just as she anxiously waited, a sudden commotion and panic erupted outside.

Confused, Ruan Shu was about to get up to see what was happening when the secretary burst into the room.

“Miss, we need to leave quickly. A high-level Zerg and star pirates have invaded the main planet!”

Ruan Shu opened her mouth to ask something, but a deafening explosion and flash of light interrupted her. The secretary shielded her head, but a lingering buzz filled her ears, as though all other sounds had vanished.

Her wide eyes reflected fear and panic.

The secretary was already carrying her down in the president’s private elevator, and thankfully, the building had yet to be hit by the chaos.

When Ruan Shu finally regained her senses, they were already outside the skyscraper. Her clear eyes reflected the massive star pirate battleship as the main fleet clashed fiercely with the invaders.

Powerful energy cannons had destroyed many buildings, burying countless people beneath the rubble.

From the star pirates’ ship, enormous, ugly insect-like creatures descended. Each was massive, armored in a tough shell, wreaking havoc through the city like harvesters of destruction.

Seeing this scene, the people of the Star Beast World were utterly outraged. One by one, they shifted into their star beast forms and charged directly into the fray.

Though they might not be as formidable as the military forces, each star beast was born for battle. In large numbers, they fearlessly lunged at the Zerg, dealing significant damage despite their lack of training and formal tactics.

“Don’t be scared, Miss. As soon as we find the president, we’ll be safe,” the secretary reassured Ruan Shu.

“Mm.” Just one word, but her voice held a faint tremor.

This was the first time Ruan Shu had witnessed such a terrifying sight, her entire body trembling with fear. She bit her lip, resisting the urge to scream and cry, focusing instead on staying still so as not to burden the secretary.

But their luck ran out as a stray energy cannon blast struck within their vicinity.

Without a second thought, the secretary threw Ruan Shu out of the blast zone.

Ruan Shu’s pupils shrank in panic. “Little Vine, grab her!”

The vine that had been quietly wrapped around Ruan Shu’s wrist suddenly shot out, extending to grab the secretary and pulling both of them out of the blast zone, narrowly escaping the explosion’s range.
