Rebirth in the Interstellar Meow Meow Meow 267

Affection

The most important thing about these vegetables is that they are completely uncontaminated. They decided to set aside some seeds; later, they would certainly bring them to the research institute to see what the next generation of these seeds would be like if they weren’t cultivated by Shushu.

The rest of the Ruan family was also slightly surprised to see those giant radishes.

But only for a moment; they quickly went back to their usual routines.

If Shushu grew them, then there wouldn’t be any problem.

Ruan Shu thought to herself, ‘…Even I can’t believe I managed to grow radishes this big!’

After the radishes, Ruan Shu eagerly continued to check on the other plants.

Then, she found another small surprise.

“Dad, two more of the little kumquats have mutated.”

Due to the importance of the little kumquats, this room was now mainly used for growing them—there were already over a hundred plants.

If Ruan Shu’s abilities weren’t limited, the scale would undoubtedly be even larger.

Even so, the process of mutation for this batch of kumquats had been much slower than for the first mutated pot she grew.

So far, there were a total of four mutated kumquats, all still in their seedling stages. They might need a bit more time before they could bear fruit.

When Ruan Xiao heard that two more kumquats had mutated, he walked over and squatted down beside Shushu, watching her interact with the two kumquat seedlings.

“When they grow up, they’ll be able to help Dad even more.”

Hearing her murmur this made Ruan Xiao’s heart feel warm.

His little Shushu had already helped him so much.

All he could do, though, was to give her the best in terms of material things and to spend more time with her.

But even these simple, ordinary things were something the little one cherished deeply in her heart. She tried to do whatever she could for them in her own way.

“You’ve already done more than enough,” Ruan Xiao said, gently patting her head.

Ruan Shu tilted her head slightly, brushing her cheek against her dad’s palm.

“I’m just doing what I can, and it makes me really happy.”

It was happiness that came from the bottom of her heart.

After leaving the room, it was already a bit late. Ruan Shu washed up and returned to her room, taking out her little sketchbook from her backpack. She sat upright at her desk and began to draw.

She hadn’t forgotten her promise to her classmates.

After about half an hour, she finished a cute, chibi drawing of Narnia’s Star Beast.

Pleased, she took one last look at it, put it carefully back in her backpack, and then went to bed!

The next day, her alarm went off as scheduled.

A little, white-haired dumpling with slightly messy hair wriggled out from under the covers, rubbed her eyes, turned off the alarm, and yawned.

She sat there in a daze for about ten seconds, until a soft pink mushroom chirped and leapt into her arms, snapping Ruan Shu back to alertness.

The room had a temperature control system, so even though it was already snow season, Ruan Shu didn’t feel cold at all.

She climbed out of bed with a little huff, dressed herself, tidied up her blankets, and made sure her room was spotless and neatly organized before heading to wash her face and brush her teeth.

When it came time to do her hair, Ruan Shu decided to go downstairs to find her dad or her brothers.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t do it herself; she just wanted to spend more time with her family.

Ruan Shu, holding her little comb, stepped out of her room in her soft slippers. She peeked downstairs and saw her dad on the sofa, apparently going over some documents.

Sensing her gaze, he looked up right away.

Their eyes met, and Ruan Shu’s face lit up with a soft smile.

“Good morning, Daddy.”

She waved her small hand to greet him.

Ruan Xiao’s eyes softened. “Good morning.”

Ruan Shu slowly made her way downstairs, walked over to him, and handed him the comb, then pulled over a small stool to sit in front of him.

Although Ruan Xiao wasn’t exactly skilled at combing her hair—the comb was too small in his hands, and Ruan Shu’s soft white hair was so delicate—he was used to using more force, so he worried he might accidentally hurt her by pulling too hard.

But he wasn’t entirely unfamiliar with the task; this clearly wasn’t the first time.

After breakfast, Ruan Shu put on her small backpack and went with her dad in the hover car to school once again.

This time, she felt none of the confusion or nervousness she’d had before.

“Goodbye, Daddy.”

When they arrived at school, just like yesterday, Ruan Shu waved to her dad in farewell.

As soon as she entered the classroom, Ruan Shu called out the names of each of her classmates and took out fresh strawberries, milk pears, and cherry tomatoes to share with them.

The produce Ruan Shu grew not only lacked the invisible pollutants, but also tasted better than what was available on the market.

Spotting a classmate in star-beast form that resembled a rabbit, Ruan Shu pulled out a box of diced carrots.

As soon as she opened it, the rabbit’s nose twitched, and it hopped over, sniffing eagerly.

“What smells so good?”

While most of the classmates didn’t react much, Ali was clearly affected. He pushed past the others to get closer to Ruan Shu.

“Wow, carrots! I love these! Ruan Shu, your family’s carrots smell amazing; I’ve never smelled anything so fragrant!”

The others chattered, “I think it smells just like regular carrots. Ali, is something wrong with your nose? Besides, I don’t even like carrots.”

“Yeah, it smells the same to me too.”

“How could it be?”

Ali defended himself, “It’s clearly way more fragrant than any other carrot!”

As he spoke, his tail started wagging with excitement, his ears stood straight up, and his eyes fixed intently on the box of carrots in Ruan Shu’s hands.

“Can I have some?”

Ruan Shu handed him the box. “It’s for you! I grew this at home, and since your star-beast form is a rabbit, I thought you’d really like it, so I brought you some.”

Ali was immediately moved.

“Ruan Shu, you’re the best! I’ll protect you from now on. No one can ever bully you!”

He chomped down on a piece of carrot, his eyes lighting up with pure joy. His ears even twitched into what looked like heart shapes, a sure sign he was absolutely in love with it.

Seeing his reaction, the other students couldn’t help but wonder if it was really that delicious.

“Ali, let me have a piece,” Dora said, inching closer.

Ali hesitated, not wanting to share. He truly loved this carrot, and it was specially prepared for him by Ruan Shu!

“Come on, you have a whole box. Just give me one piece.”

As it looked like the two were about to argue, Ruan Shu intervened.

“If Ali likes it, I can bring more tomorrow. I have plenty at home.”

Upon hearing this, Ali’s ears perked up and twitched a little before he reluctantly handed one piece to Dora.

After taking a bite, Dora chewed thoughtfully. “It does taste a bit better than usual, but it’s not as amazing as you’re saying.”

Ali insisted, “It’s incredibly, unbelievably delicious! It’s the best carrot I’ve ever tasted!”
