Midsummer Whisper 103

Extra Story 2 (Part 1)

The young woman sat in the passenger seat, holding shopping bags, and turned her head to see Pei Chen walking back into the convenience store.

In the air-conditioned car, she looked down at the two boxes in her hand, thinking about the words Pei Chen had just whispered in her ear, and couldn’t help but feel a blush rising on her face.

He said she bought the wrong size…

She suspected this shameless man was subtly boasting. QAQ.

It wasn’t just something she saw with her own eyes.

She had lost count of how many times she had measured with her hands.

This man, with his pale skin and cold eyes, usually wore thin-rimmed glasses, exuding a calm and distant aura. But that part of him was the exact opposite—arrogant and terrifying, flaunting itself with a wild intensity, stirring up a storm before even breaching the gates.

Every time she thought of this contrast, her heart would race.

A few minutes later, she saw Pei Chen coming out of the convenience store.

The driver’s side door opened, and he got into the car, leaning toward her. He placed the newly purchased item into her lap, his gaze deep and intense.

“I should have let you go in and buy it,” he said.

“…”

How could he be so wicked!

With a smile on her face, she lightly hooked her finger around the hem of his shirt and whispered, “I just grabbed one at random earlier. I forgot there’s a difference… But who asked certain people to be so naturally gifted…”

Upon hearing this, his eyes darkened, and he sealed her honey-sweet lips with his, giving her a light, punishing bite.

She was always teasing him.

As he pulled back, the young woman’s gaze caught something, and she couldn’t help but curl her lips in a teasing tone, “Classmate Pei, with how you are right now, can you even make it to the hotel?”

Pei Chen’s Adam’s apple bobbed.

For a moment, he really wanted to take her right there.

He looked at her playful expression, his voice hoarse, “Just wait.”

His words were laden with meaning.

Imagining certain things, she felt a tingling warmth in her heart.

Pei Chen settled back into his seat, fastened his seatbelt, and restarted the car.

The car moved through the night, his eyes focused ahead, suppressing his emotions.

Twenty minutes later, the car arrived in front of the hotel. After parking, she went to the back seat to get the flowers. Pei Chen asked, “Do you want the cake?”

Her eyes curved with a smile, “Of course I do.”

Seeing the girl joyfully hugging the bouquet of flowers, Pei Chen reached out to rub her head, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

As they entered the lobby, he asked her to wait while he went to handle the check-in by himself. After completing the process, he returned to her and guided her toward the elevator.

Inside the elevator, she glanced at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes:

“This hotel has a great night view, and it’s usually hard to book a room here. Did someone plan this from the start?”

He wrapped his arm around her and quietly admitted, “Yes.”

From the moment he returned to Lincheng after graduation, he had been thinking about it.

She let out a light hum, confirming that this man indeed had ulterior motives.

The elevator reached the top floor, and they stepped out. When they arrived at their room, Pei Chen swiped the key card to open the door. As soon as the door closed, before she had a chance to take in the room, she felt his hand seize her waist, pressing her against the wall.

She dropped what she was holding to the floor, her heart pounding as she watched him lean in, instantly claiming her breath.

It was like a spark being thrown into oil.

Heat exploded between them.

The girl closed her eyes, sweet feelings blooming in her heart as she stood on tiptoe, hooking her arms around his neck, and eagerly responded to his kiss.

With her head cradled in his hand, Pei Chen kissed her deeply, the sound of their lips meeting clear in the air. Her sweet scent mixed with his minty one, intertwining as suppressed desires surged like a tidal wave, pulling them into a sea of longing.

She was lifted off her feet, and amid the pushing and pulling, she fell onto the soft bed.

He followed, overwhelming her with the intensity of a storm.

They didn’t speak, their kisses urgent, as if she might drown in the heat of his kisses, able only to let out soft, kitten-like sounds.

In his view, her slip had fallen, her black hair cascading over her snow-white shoulders, her face as delicate as a peach, her almond-shaped eyes glistening—a perfect blend of innocence and desire.

“Zhizhi…”

He bit her earlobe, his voice hoarse as he whispered her name.

She began to unravel, piece by piece.

Suddenly, the abrupt ring of a phone shattered the atmosphere.

Pei Chen’s brow furrowed deeply, ignoring the call as the ringing persisted, refusing to stop, replaying over and over.

The girl pushed against his chest, her face flushed, trying to persuade him, “Pei Chen, answer the phone first—it might be something important from the studio…”

Pei Chen’s kisses on her neck were reluctantly interrupted. His dark eyes roiled with emotion as he leaned his forehead against hers, trying to steady his breath. After a few seconds, he grimly pulled out his phone, noticing it was a call from a studio employee.

He answered the call, and a voice from the other end said, “Pei Shen, there’s a bit of an issue at the factory today…”

While he spoke on the phone, she mischievously tried to distract him. Pei Chen caught her hand, giving her a warning glance, but maintained a steady tone as he responded to the caller.

After hanging up, Liang Zhiyi asked him what the issue was. He explained the problem, mentioning that he needed to handle it immediately.

Sensing his displeasure, she smiled softly and tried to soothe him, “It’s okay, you can take care of it first. I was just about to take a shower anyway.”

His voice was hoarse, almost gravelly, as he replied, “Do you really think I’m in the mood to work right now?”

She smiled and gently patted his head, then blew a teasing breath into his ear, “We have plenty of time, don’t we? President Pei, you can do whatever you want tonight, alright?”

Hearing this, his eyes darkened to an inky black, “You said it.”

Her heart skipped a beat, realizing she might have just dug herself into a hole.

Finally, he gave her a brief kiss before standing up to attend to his work. Watching him go, Liang Zhiyi couldn’t help but smile.

Would he end up frustrated because of this? It wasn’t her fault the phone rang at just the right moment…

She sat up and only then noticed the room’s view. One side featured a large floor-to-ceiling window, offering a panoramic view from the tallest building, capturing the entire splendor of Lincheng below.

The room was a spacious suite, complete with an open bathroom. The bathtub was also placed next to a floor-to-ceiling window, offering a breathtaking view of the starry night sky.

This was just too beautiful.

Knowing her girlish dreams, he had clearly gone out of his way to make this first time as romantic as possible.

She didn’t bring a change of clothes, so she took a bathrobe from the wardrobe. Not wanting to tempt him further, she walked to the enclosed bathroom to take a shower.

While showering, she could hear Pei Chen’s deep, serious voice as he dealt with work matters, a stark contrast to how he had been earlier.

After her bath, she wrapped herself in the bathrobe and stepped out just as Pei Chen finished his work. He walked over, embraced her, and with one hand unbuckling his belt, whispered, “Wait for me while I take a shower.”

“Mm…”

Her cheeks warmed, and she averted her gaze, not wanting to watch him undress.

Pei Chen went into the bathroom while she put the cake in the fridge, drew the curtains, and then lay on the bed, playing on her phone.

After a while, Ji Fei’er’s call came in. Liang Zhiyi answered, and on the other end, Ji Fei’er’s cheerful voice rang out, “Zhizhi, are you still working overtime? You look so lonely by yourself. How about I take you out for a late-night snack? I’m bored being home alone.”

Liang Zhiyi smiled, “No need, I’ve got company.”

“What?”

Liang Zhiyi turned on her phone’s camera, looked at Ji Fei’er, and smiled playfully, “I’ve ordered a handsome guy. I’m at a hotel with him right now.”

Ji Fei’er: ?!?

Seeing Liang Zhiyi dressed in a bathrobe, with a hint of her sweet, peachy neckline showing, Ji Fei’er was shocked, “Oh my god, are you serious?! I’m telling Pei Chen, you’re in big trouble!”

Liang Zhiyi laughed, “Go ahead, tell him.”

“You’re just staying at a hotel alone and trying to tease me, aren’t you?”

Liang Zhiyi turned the camera to show the men’s suit pants on the sofa, “Why would I lie? He’s in the shower.”

Ji Fei’er: I don’t get it??

She couldn’t help but warn, “Zhizhi, you really shouldn’t do this. What if Pei Chen finds out? It wouldn’t be good…”

Seeing Ji Fei’er’s naive reaction, Liang Zhiyi couldn’t hold back her laughter, “How can you be so gullible? Of course, the one in the shower is Pei Chen.”

Ji Fei’er immediately breathed a sigh of relief, “I knew it. But isn’t he supposed to be out of town with Tongzhou and the others? How come he’s back?”

“Today is our four-year anniversary, so he came back to be with me.”

Seeing Liang Zhiyi’s current situation, Ji Fei’er grinned mischievously, “Congratulations! Enjoy your night, and remember to take precautions.”

“Oh, by the way, if Pei Chen is particularly cold and restrained, you’ll need to take the initiative. Men can’t resist being teased.”

“…”

Liang Zhiyi blushed.

The word “restrained” didn’t seem to fit with Pei Chen at all.

Hearing the bathroom door open, she quickly ended the call. When she looked up, she saw him emerging with only a towel wrapped around his waist.

Suddenly, she thought of how powerful he looked while playing basketball, his energy and masculinity radiating explosively.

As he walked toward her, his deep, unreadable gaze met hers, and her heart skipped a beat. Just as she was about to speak, her phone screen lit up, revealing a call from Zhong Xinrou.

She showed the phone to Pei Chen, then answered it. Zhong Xinrou’s gentle, caring voice came through, “Zhiyi, are you out with friends tonight?”

Just as she was about to respond, she felt Pei Chen pulling her into his arms. He leaned in and gently laid her down, his hands moving like fish, exploring her.

Her mind went blank for a moment, and seeing the faint smile on his face, she realized he was deliberately getting back at her. Embarrassed, she lightly hit him, trying to keep her voice steady as she replied to Zhong Xinrou, “Yes, Mom, I won’t be coming home to sleep tonight…”

“Hmm?”

She replied guiltily, “I… I’m at Fei’er’s house, and I don’t want to go back.”

“Okay, I just got off work and noticed you weren’t in your room, so I thought I’d ask…”

She wanted to say something, but her red lips were sealed. His kiss was intense, making her heart race. She didn’t dare to make a sound, feeling as if they were secretly doing something wrong. After a moment, he finally released her lips. Flustered, she quickly said, “Um, Mom, I’ll hang up now…”

She set the phone aside, meeting Pei Chen’s dark eyes hovering just above her line of sight. Her face flushed red as she spoke in a mix of shame and annoyance, nearly in tears, “Pei Chen, I’m going to tell my mom you bullied me…”

The young man chuckled, “And who was just doing the same thing?”

She let out a soft huff, meeting his intense gaze, and feeling his kiss approaching again. Suddenly, she said, “My period just started.”

His actions halted.

A look of disbelief flashed in his eyes. “But isn’t it usually at the end of the month?”

“I just noticed; it’s early this time.”

The air hung still for a few seconds. His voice was hoarse, “Really?”

She suppressed a mischievous smile. “Of course.”

Seeing the playful look in her eyes, like a little fox, he sensed something. He reached into her bathrobe, and a few seconds later, found nothing there.

It was as if, in a hazy dream, one just needed to push aside a leaf to reveal a blooming, dewy rose.

His gaze deepened. “You tricked me?”

She smiled, “Some people really believed it, though.”

A surge of heat rose within Pei Chen. Looking at her, he said in a hoarse voice, “You’re in trouble.”

His kiss descended fiercely.

And then the girl finally understood what real “trouble” was.

Her hands were pinned above her head, and his kisses trailed down to her shoulder. She felt like a gift being slowly unwrapped, her eyes welling up with tears. She called his name in a sweet, soft voice, like cotton candy—delicate and sugary, making his eyes burn even more.

The water flowed like a rising tide, spreading around them.

Bit by bit, he broke through her defenses.

Pei Chen was extremely patient, leading her to surrender gradually, the long-suppressed desires between them growing like wild vines, entwining them together.

In the room, the light was dim and hazy.

Enough to make anyone feel intoxicated.

Passion burned intensely between them.

After a long while, the girl could no longer resist his teasing. With a sob in her voice, she urged, “Pei Chen…”

The young man met her tearful eyes, his gaze burning. He kissed the corner of her moist eyes, then quickly propped himself up to reach for something.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she covered her eyes, only hearing the rustling of packaging. Then she was held in his arms once more.

She met his gaze, feeling overwhelmed, never having experienced anything like this before. Nervously, she clutched his shoulders as Pei Chen, in a hoarse voice, gently reassured her at her ear:

“Zhizhi, don’t be afraid.”

He was exceptionally gentle, as if handling a precious treasure.

The room was awash in shimmering water and blurred light.

All his love poured into her world, filling it completely. She bit down softly on his shoulder as fireworks exploded in her mind.

Pei Chen’s eyes turned entirely red, and he whispered her name lowly.

“Zhizhi…”

He had once been insecure and felt unworthy, suppressing his intense feelings for her. She had been his unattainable desire, a longing he never dared to voice. He never imagined a day like this would come, when she would be entirely his, and his alone.

He kissed her deeply.
