Midsummer Whisper 105

Extra Story 3 (Part 1)

Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, Liang Zhiyi could see the crescent moon hanging in the deep blue sky, with the neatly arranged and towering buildings of Lincheng forming a picturesque view.

She hadn’t expected Pei Chen to open the curtains, leaving only a thin layer of sheer white fabric. Her mind went blank, and her fair skin, as delicate as snow, flushed with a soft pink hue out of embarrassment.

Just as she was about to speak, she felt the boy grip her body, breaking through her defenses. A rush of heat spread across her face, and her heartbeat suddenly became erratic.

She was so embarrassed she wanted to escape, her voice trembling with a hint of a sob, sounding sweet and fragile: “Pei Chen…”

Sensing her genuine fear, the boy pressed a kiss to her ear, his voice hoarse as he comforted her:

“It’s okay, Zhizhi, no one will see.”

They were in the tallest building, surrounded by shorter structures, and besides, how could he bear to let anyone else see his precious treasure?

Her face was flushed red.

Then, she was pulled into an overwhelming wave of heat.

She bit her lip, raising her eyes to see herself in the mirror, along with Pei Chen behind her, with nowhere to hide.

Even though she was usually bold, she couldn’t withstand this kind of play from him.

How could he be so mischievous?

Was this really the Pei Chen she used to know? QAQ.

In the mirror, the boy completely shed his cold and aloof facade, his intense and wild hormonal aura crashing over her, leaving her entire being numb.

He turned his head, seeking her lips, their breaths entangled.

Eventually, with her knees bent, he lifted her from behind. After a while, she covered her eyes, crying softly, and Pei Chen, considering her shy nature, carried her to the bed. The only thing left on the dressing mirror were droplets of water, dripping one by one.

He closed the curtains once again.

She lay in the softness, once more pulled into his embrace. He leaned close to her ear and sighed softly, “Zhizhi…”

Liang Zhiyi’s mind was in a daze.

She only heard him calling her name repeatedly as the spring light grew stronger.

With utmost affection.

It wasn’t until the sky had completely darkened that the sounds in the room finally quieted down.

Liang Zhiyi was held in the boy’s arms, feeling as though she had been fished out of water, soft and sweet like cotton candy roasted over a fire.

Pei Chen lowered his head and gently kissed her forehead, asking softly:

“Zhizhi, are you alright?”

Seeing the satisfied expression on the boy’s face, she remembered how he had just proven the truth behind her and Ji Fei’er’s complaints. Feeling too embarrassed to speak, she buried her face in his shoulder and bit him lightly.

Noticing the marks he had left on her body, Pei Chen felt a pang of guilt and gently comforted her. In the end, the girl leaned against the headboard with him, poked his chest, and muttered:

“It’s not even nighttime yet…”

Did he really need to act like he was starving, as if it were the first time in his life he’d ever had meat?

Pei Chen wrapped her hand in his, meeting her gaze with deep, intense eyes, and spoke in a low, husky voice: “I just want to stay in bed with you all the time.”

Hearing this, her heart fluttered like a deer caught in headlights.

This guy…

She looked up at him, pouting as she accused him, “Classmate Pei, do you know how bad you’re being right now? I never imagined you’d be like this. Tell me, did you secretly learn this from somewhere?”

Pei Chen thought back to how he had just lost control, feeling his ears heat up. “No.”

It was just that the girl he once didn’t dare to dream about was now right in front of him, and those actions were beyond his brain’s control.

He had always been steady and calm, able to approach any problem with rational thought since he was a child. But when it came to this girl, all his reason was thrown out the window, driven purely by emotion—ever since the start of his second year of high school, and even more so now.

Liang Zhiyi huffed softly, “I don’t believe you. You’re just a rogue, and I hate you the most…”

He turned to face her, rubbing her slender waist as he asked in a low voice:

“Really?”

“Mhm.”

“Then who was it just now, holding onto me and saying how much they liked me?”

She proudly curled her lips, “I don’t remember.”

“Then how about we revisit it?”

Understanding the implication in his words, she blushed and hit him in annoyance, only to be met with his low chuckle. After some time of being close, he asked her, “Does it hurt?”

The girl hooked her arms around his neck and shook her head.

Though she was embarrassed, she couldn’t resist the allure of exploring new experiences with him. Besides, they were very much in sync in this area, and more often than not, she found herself enjoying it.

She looked at him, her lips curving into a teasing smile, her eyes alluring: “I’m fine, but with how hard someone worked, I’m sure you must be exhausted. Shall we call it a night?”

Hearing her challenge, he fixed his gaze on her and let out a few words from his thin lips:

“You’ll find out tonight.”

Her heart began to race.

“Hmph, men and their damn pride.”

After a while, she complained that her body felt sticky and uncomfortable, so Pei Chen scooped her up and carried her to the bathroom.

When they reached the bathroom, she caught sight of the kiss marks on her body in the mirror, especially the ones on her neck. Pouting angrily, she exclaimed, “Pei Chen, it’s the middle of summer! How am I supposed to wear a dress like this?”

So frustrating, QAQ.

He pulled her into his arms and gently ruffled her hair. “I’m sorry, Zhizhi.”

Then, as if an idea struck her, she grinned. “Well, you can kiss me however you like. But on Monday morning, when I go to the studio, I’ll make sure all the employees see what their beloved President Pei is really like in private.”

“…”

Seeing the subtle tension in Pei Chen’s jawline, she couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Watching her playful and mischievous antics, his eyes darkened slightly. He pulled her into his embrace and kissed her deeply, making her beg for mercy. “I was wrong, mmph…”

The bathroom was filled with sweet affection.

After a while, they finished their bath. He carried her back to the room, and while she lay on the bed and ordered takeout, she watched Pei Chen walk over to the floor-to-ceiling window to clean up the “battlefield” of the room. Her face heated up, and she quickly buried her head under the covers in embarrassment.

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang. Pei Chen, now wrapped in a bathrobe, went to answer it. Curiously, she peeked her head out, hearing him exchange a few words.

After closing the door, he returned to her side, pulling her into his arms. She asked, “Who was it?”

Pei Chen sat down next to her, holding her close. “It was the hotel staff. They said we got a complaint.”

Liang Zhiyi: ???

“Why?”

He kissed her earlobe, chuckling softly as he whispered, “Because someone’s noises earlier disturbed the guests next door.”

Liang Zhiyi: !!!

Hearing this, she recalled the soft, sweet sounds she had made earlier. Her face instantly flushed as red as a tomato, and she quickly buried herself under the blanket in shame.

Pei Chen couldn’t help but laugh at her reaction. He pulled her back out and tried to comfort her. “I’m just teasing you. They came to deliver breakfast vouchers.”

She was both embarrassed and annoyed. “You tricked me…”

He chuckled. “The soundproofing here is really good. No one could hear anything.”

If it had been true, she would have wanted to escape to another planet. It wasn’t even nighttime, and people would’ve heard such noises… what would they think of them?

Pei Chen really was a big tease, always playing tricks on her.

“I don’t want to talk to you anymore.”

“Hmm,” he asked casually, “how many minutes this time?”

She mumbled something, trying to be serious but sounding a bit sheepish:

“Until the food arrives.”

He laughed and leaned in to kiss her on the cheek.

How could she be so adorable?

Pei Chen went back to tidying up the room, while Liang Zhiyi rolled over and picked up her phone from the bedside table. She noticed that Ji Fei’er had just sent her another message:

[OMG haha, so this is what Pei Chen is really like. You definitely can’t judge a book by its cover. You better take it easy with that little frame of yours.]

[By the way, I sent you the financial report for the studio from last month. Make sure to take a look at it.]

Liang Zhiyi replied: [Okay, got it.]

Ji Fei’er quickly responded: [What were you doing just now? Why are you replying so late??]

Liang Zhiyi cleared her throat, feeling a bit guilty as she replied: [I was texting when Pei Chen saw it, and then he pulled me away and… well, you know… (:з」∠)]

Ji Fei’er: “…”

OMG! I can’t even look at this!

After dinner that evening, the two finished up their work and then lay down together to watch a movie. They had both been so busy recently that such relaxing and cozy moments were rare.

But as the movie reached its latter half, Pei Chen’s kisses began to land on her, his hand cupping the back of her head as he tenderly tasted the sweetness of her lips. As the warmth of the moment intensified, who could still focus on watching a movie?

After four years of restraint, the two were now indulging in the sweetness of their connection, their youthful energy making them eager to explore deeper layers of pleasure they had never experienced before.

She was like a little temptress, unafraid to provoke him, drawing out the red in Pei Chen’s eyes and adding a rougher edge to his actions.

By the end of the night, nearly every corner of the room bore traces of their presence.

The golden wind met the jade dew.

It was a night of sheer indulgence.

The next day, Liang Zhiyi felt as if her entire body had been taken apart and then put back together. When Pei Chen asked if they should extend their stay for another night, she quickly shook her head in alarm.

Another night like that? Who could handle it!

She playfully warned him, “President Pei, don’t forget you have work on Monday. Don’t go to the R&D center with your mind filled with thoughts like these, or you won’t be able to write a single line of code.”

Pei Chen gave her a kiss and softly asked, “How about next weekend then?”

She smiled, “Let’s see how you behave this week.”

Pei Chen responded with a soft “mm,” his gaze locked on her, the emotion in his eyes barely concealed. He was completely under her spell.

That morning, after the two of them had packed up, they checked out of the hotel around noon. Pei Chen took her out for lunch since he hadn’t been home yet after returning from his business trip. After the meal, Liang Zhiyi suggested accompanying him home to visit Uncle Pei.

When they walked into the house, Gong Qinxin was helping Pei Yongxia with his rehabilitation exercises. Seeing them, she greeted, “Oh, you’re back…”

Liang Zhiyi and Pei Chen changed into indoor shoes and walked in. Gong Qinxin came over to take their luggage and asked with a smile, “Just back from the airport? Did Zhiyi go pick you up?”

The young couple exchanged a glance. Pei Chen lightly cleared his throat and replied calmly, “Yes.”

“Have you eaten? Do you need me to make something for you?”

“No, we’ve eaten.”

They walked further into the house, and Pei Yongxia invited Liang Zhiyi to sit on the sofa with a smile. Pei Chen noticed that his father was using the rehabilitation robot their team had developed and asked how the experience had been over the past few days.

“It’s quite good, very smart. And now that your mom is in the kitchen cooking, I can continue my rehab exercises alone…” Pei Yongxia praised the device enthusiastically. Seeing how successful his son had become, he was filled with pride and contentment.

Pei Chen asked if there were any areas that needed improvement during the experience. Pei Yongxia mentioned a few points but chuckled, embarrassed, “I’m not really an expert, so don’t take my word for it.”

Pei Chen made a note of his father’s feedback. “It’s fine, Dad. Your input is really helpful. I’ll share it with our R&D team.”

Gong Qinxin brought over some fruit and encouraged Liang Zhiyi to help herself. Pei Chen headed to the bathroom, but as soon as he entered, he noticed the floor was covered with water and there were pipes scattered around.

When he came out, his brow was furrowed. “Is the bathroom broken again?”

Gong Qinxin nodded. “The drainage in the bathroom has been a problem lately. We’ve already called someone to fix it, but they said the equipment is old, and other residents in the building have been having similar issues.”

“Can it be fixed?”

“They’re coming back tomorrow to take another look.”

Pei Chen frowned. “How many times has it been repaired already?”

Gong Qinxin hesitated for a moment and then said, “Pei Chen, I’ve been thinking… maybe you and your father should move into my apartment?”

She explained that she had bought a large flat in Lincheng a few years ago, with over 200 square meters of space—more than enough for the family.

“Pei Chen, I don’t mean anything by it, but this place is getting old. The space for your father’s rehab exercises is small, and it’s not convenient for him to go up and down the stairs. I’ve already set up everything he needs for his rehabilitation at my place.”

At the end of the day, she just wanted to provide Pei Yongxia with a more comfortable living environment. After all, he was over fifty now, with poor health, and living in an old apartment like this was indeed uncomfortable.

After hearing her out, Liang Zhiyi agreed and also tried to persuade Pei Chen. “It really is inconvenient for you and Uncle to stay here. If the bathroom keeps acting up, what if Uncle slips on the wet floor? Elderly people can’t afford to fall.”

In the past, Pei Chen would have flatly refused, but now they were a family.

Pei Chen asked his father for his opinion, and when Pei Yongxia said he was open to the idea, Pei Chen agreed. “Let’s go check out your place first, then.”

Gong Qinxin smiled and said, “Alright, then let’s go whenever you’re free.”

“After work on Monday.”

“Sounds good.”
