Midsummer Whisper 116

Extra Story 10 (Part 1)

Liang Zhiyi was enveloped in the man’s embrace. Under the warmth and firmness of his body, the girl’s fair cheeks blushed a soft pink, like a freshly picked peach—sweet, juicy, and tender.

At this moment, the girl couldn’t sense Pei Chen’s relentless pursuit, akin to a hunter’s, inching closer with every step. Her brows furrowed slightly, her damp almond-shaped eyes lowered in discomfort, and she whispered softly, trying to push him away:

“So hot…”

Pei Chen gently kissed her moist, glistening eyes and then helped remove the excess layers from her body. Her milk-white skin was revealed before him, glowing under the soft orange light like pearlescent silk.

Her figure was already slender, but with Pei Chen’s frequent tender care, she had become even more delicate and alluring. No man could see her like this and not feel a twinge of envy.

Pei Chen gazed at her, his eyes filled with turbulent desire. “Are you still hot?”

Liang Zhiyi noticed his gaze, which felt like fire as it passed over her, making her blush even more. She raised her hand to cover herself and tried to turn away, but he stopped her.

“What’s wrong?”

Her cheeks were flushed, her fluttering lashes carrying a teardrop that seemed ready to fall. She blinked, shyly mumbling:

“Brother, don’t look at Zhizhi, it’s embarrassing…”

Who could resist her at this moment?

Pei Chen’s eyes grew darker, his brows furrowing in a way that almost pained him, as if he could barely hold back the urge to take her completely.

He planted kisses on her, little by little, until his burning lips rested by her ear. His voice was hoarse to the extreme as he murmured, “Zhizhi, every part of you belongs to me. There’s no need to be shy.”

She murmured in response, her eyes moist.

He bit her earlobe, his wicked side emerging as he completely discarded his usual cold and reserved facade. His voice, each word pronounced deliberately, made her heart race: “Zhizhi, you exist for me to savor, do you understand?”

She let out a soft, helpless moan.

“Brother…”

Drunk, Liang Zhiyi melted completely, becoming docile and pliable in his hands.

For a moment, the intensity of his love overwhelmed her. Liang Zhiyi, unaccustomed to it, clung tightly to his shoulders, clear tears slipping down her cheeks, looking pitifully endearing.

He comforted her, and after a while, she became uncomfortable and urged him on. He curled his lips into a teasing smile, speaking softly to the intoxicated girl: “Zhizhi, let’s play a game, okay?”

She was curious. “A game…”

“Zhizhi, count from one to one hundred. Every time you reach a multiple of eight, I’ll reward you, okay?”

Inside, the girl felt a nervous flutter, wanting to say no, but Pei Chen wasn’t in a rush. He insisted she count before continuing.

He admitted he was being a bit cruel, taking advantage of her drunken state to tease her like this.

Liang Zhiyi, distressed, began to cry, but her drunken mind worked slowly, making her count sluggishly and sometimes incorrectly. After several rounds, Pei Chen realized that the one torturing himself was none other than him.

After a while, his eyes turned red, and he gripped her waist tightly.

His black lashes fluttered as he spoke in a hoarse voice, “No more games, I can’t hold back anymore.”

Then, like a storm, he descended upon her.

And so, they both fell completely into a frenzy of passion.

The girl clung to him tightly, unable to speak. In her drunken state, she was as innocent as a blank sheet of paper, tears rolling down her cheeks one by one.

She cried softly, continuously calling him “brother.” Finally, deep into the night, as her consciousness blurred, she only heard Pei Chen’s low, raspy voice in her ear:

“Not brother.”

“You should call me husband.”

A night passed, and in the early morning, the sun rose, dispelling the dampness of the mist, and the golden sunlight bathed everything in its warmth.

As she gradually regained consciousness, she groggily opened her eyes. In her sleepy daze, the man’s gentle voice reached her first:

“Awake?”

She turned over and was pulled into his arms, her vision gradually clearing until she met Pei Chen’s gaze as he lay on his side, watching her. “Does your head hurt?”

“A little, but it’s okay…”

He stroked her head. “Don’t drink so much next time; it’s bad for your health.”

“Okay…”

As her vision became clearer, she looked at him.

She hadn’t blacked out from drinking last night, and now, many scenes were slowly coming together in her mind.

As she was piecing it all together, he seemed to guess her thoughts. His words led right to where her mind was heading, and he asked with a smile, “Zhizhi, do you remember what happened last night?”

“N-no, I don’t remember…”

She buried her face in the pillow. “I must’ve just fallen asleep after drinking too much.”

“Asleep?” Pei Chen chuckled softly. “Then who was calling me ‘brother’ over and over?”

“…”

Liang Zhiyi’s face heated up, and despite her embarrassment, she retorted indignantly, mumbling, “And someone seemed pretty happy to hear it, didn’t they?”

As she gradually recalled Pei Chen’s various “misdeeds” from the night before, she pouted and accused him, “I don’t want to talk to you anymore. You took advantage of me when I was drunk…”

He pulled her into his arms, soothing her, “Don’t be mad. It’s just that Zhizhi was too adorable last night.”

“Hmph…”

Yet, she had to admit that even in her drunken state, he made her feel incredibly comfortable, as if her limbs were soaked in warm water, completely relaxed.

Pei Chen was no longer the slightly inexperienced and clumsy person he used to be. Now, as a mature man, he was highly skilled in this area, with his abilities being beyond question.

She really loved being intimate with him…

The girl was held tightly in his arms, and as they whispered to each other about last night, Pei Chen murmured a few provocative words in her ear, making her blush. She quickly covered his mouth:

“Pei Chen, stop talking…”

How did he become so mischievous?

He used to blush just from a simple kiss, but now that they were married, he had become more shameless by the day.

He smiled softly at her reaction, deciding not to tease her further. He gently stroked her head and asked, “Do you want to sleep a little longer?”

“Yes, I’m still a bit sleepy…”

“That’s okay, I’ll stay with you for a while longer.”

She smiled, feeling safe as she leaned against his chest and gradually fell asleep again.

By the time she woke up, the sun was already high in the sky. Pei Chen had been awake for a while, sitting by the bed reading a book.

After she got up and freshened up, they left the room together, only to find that it was almost lunchtime.

When Zhong Xinrou saw her, she scolded her lightly for sleeping in so late. Liang Zhiyi was too embarrassed to argue back, so she secretly shot an annoyed glance at the “culprit.”

They had lunch at her grandmother’s house, and in the afternoon, Liang Zhiyi and Pei Chen returned to the Pei family home. Today was New Year’s Eve, and they planned to have dinner with Pei Yongxia and Gong Qinxin.

This year was Liang Zhiyi’s first time celebrating the holiday as a daughter-in-law, and both Pei Yongxia and Gong Qinxin gave her large red envelopes. Always a charmer, Liang Zhiyi sweetly called them “Mom” and “Dad,” making the two elders beam with joy.

The New Year’s Eve dinner was particularly warm and lively.

In the evening, after getting tired of watching the Spring Festival Gala, Liang Zhiyi mentioned that she wanted to set off fireworks. Pei Chen, anticipating this, had already bought some. He grabbed the fireworks and took her up to the rooftop terrace.

As the fuse was lit, the fireworks shot into the sky, bursting into brilliant blooms overhead.

Liang Zhiyi looked up, admiring the display, while Pei Chen stood beside her, wrapping her warmly in his arms.

“Pei Chen, do you remember the first time we watched fireworks together during the Spring Festival?” she asked with a smile.

He nodded, “Yes, it was our third year of high school. I knew you were back in Lincheng, so I ran to Xingyang Square to find you.”

At that time, the two were in different cities, enduring the most agonizing and painful year of their lives. Yet, as time flew by, here they were, already married.

The girl smiled softly, lifting her gaze to meet his, her eyes illuminated by the brilliant fireworks: “Pei Chen, from now on, we have to spend every Spring Festival together. We’ll be together for a lifetime, right?”

Pei Chen curved his lips into a smile and leaned down to gently kiss her:

“Of course.”

No matter how time passed, even as they grew old and their hair turned white, they would never be apart again.

After the New Year, their wedding preparations officially began.

The Liang Corporation held a prestigious position in Lincheng, and as the cherished daughter of Chairman Liang, Liang Zhiyi’s wedding was destined to be grand, with preparations starting well in advance.

In March, as spring blossomed, the couple first went to take their wedding photos.

They had their first photoshoot domestically. Knowing how much the girl loved sentimental keepsakes, Pei Chen indulged her by flying her to several countries in Northern Europe for another photoshoot, giving her the option to choose which photos to use at the wedding.

At the same time, a dedicated designer took their measurements, as it was time to start crafting their wedding attire.

The wedding dresses for the photoshoot were purchased from several top international brands. For the actual wedding, especially Liang Zhiyi’s outfits, there were over a dozen sets to choose from, including Western-style wedding gowns, traditional Chinese xiuhe dresses, dragon and phoenix robes, qipaos, and more. Each piece was to be handcrafted by renowned traditional artisans.

The process of measuring, selecting materials, tailoring, finishing edges, arranging patterns, and embroidering was intricate and required a significant amount of time and effort, so preparations began early.

In addition, they had to carefully plan out every detail of the wedding, including the venue, wedding favors, banquet menu, guest list, and the decoration of their new home. Every task, big or small, had to be handled with the utmost care, with no room for oversight.

The meticulous preparations continued from spring through summer, and by the early autumn of October, the weather had turned from hot to cool.

Finally, the long-awaited wedding day arrived.

In the morning, as the sun rose, its warm golden light spread across the earth.

The sky was clear and blue, as deep as the ocean, with a gentle breeze and bright sunshine. The weather forecast confirmed that it would be a perfectly sunny day.

At the Liang family villa, the lights had been on all night, and as dawn broke, the house became abuzz with activity.

Makeup artists, stylists, and the wedding team arrived one after another, efficiently carrying out their tasks.

In the room, the most important person of the day sat before the makeup mirror, surrounded by her styling team. Some were working on her hairstyle, while others were meticulously applying her makeup.

Once her makeup was done, she stood up, and the stylist helped her arrange her wedding dress.

After a while, Ji Fei’er and Zhi Mian arrived. Both of them were part of the bridesmaid group today. Although Zhi Mian was already married, Liang Zhiyi wasn’t superstitious about those customs; she simply wanted her two best friends to be by her side on such an important day.

In addition to her best friends, Liang Zhiyi also invited her high school buddies—Gao Jia, the girl with glasses, and Song Hao, the girl with the high ponytail—to be her bridesmaids. She also included a young assistant from her company and a close colleague to round out the group.

When Ji Fei’er and Zhi Mian saw Liang Zhiyi, they were stunned—

The girl was dressed in a pure white wedding gown, meticulously handcrafted over seven months. The skirt was adorned with delicate, three-dimensional embroidered gardenias, scattered like a cascade of flowers. In the sunlight, they shimmered with a soft golden glow, like stars twinkling in a sky of flowers.
