Rebirth in the Interstellar Meow Meow Meow 106

Could His Dad Be Fooling Him?

Ruan Fengsi picked up a small brush, placed his little sister on his lap, and, with his large hand carefully holding the tiny brush, started grooming the little kitten.

For some reason, watching him hold that brush looked oddly pitiful, as the brush seemed ridiculously small in his hands.

Ruan Shu obediently lay on her brother’s lap, lifting her head or raising her paws whenever he indicated, even flipping over to reveal her little belly. She looked exactly like a well-behaved, quiet little puppet.

“I’m strong, so tell me if it hurts,” Ruan Fengsi warned gently.

Ruan Shu tilted her little head and let out soft mews, rubbing against his palm.

Got it~

Ruan Fengsi found it quite remarkable. He had never groomed himself before, thinking up until today that a fierce tiger would have no need for grooming! But after his little sister groomed him, he realized that it actually felt quite nice.

Still, he would only allow Ruan Shu to groom him; anyone else could forget about it.

As for Ruan Shu, she didn’t mind who groomed her—it was a little addictive, actually.

Ruan Fengsi was especially gentle and attentive, his gaze locked on his sister’s fluffy little face. If he noticed any sign of discomfort, he would instinctively ease up without her needing to say a word.

Eventually, as he saw the little kitten sprawled on his knee, purring contentedly, her snowy white fur gleaming with pleasure, he let a faint smile curve his lips.

Looks like he’s got pretty good grooming skills! How could such a small task possibly stump him?

Ruan Shu, blissfully enjoying being groomed, finally understood why cats looked so content when being brushed. It really did feel wonderful.

“No shedding at all,” Ruan Fengsi muttered as he examined the brush. Then, he petted the kitten from head to tail.

It was… addictive. One more time.

By the third time, the kitten grew a little resistant, pushing his hand away with her tiny paws and jumping to the floor.

She didn’t want to play with her big brother anymore; she was going to wait for her dad to come home.

But before she made it out the door, she was grabbed again and placed on her big brother’s shoulder.

“Meow~”

Her big brother’s shoulders were broad, giving the little kitten plenty of space to lie down without having to walk on her own.

Ruan Shu tilted her head and nudged his jaw, her eyes half-closed, her little cat mouth curved in what looked like a smile, and a soft purr coming from her throat.

It was a bit noisy, but not annoying—instead, it made people want to scoop her up and cuddle her even more.

Ruan Fengsi’s lips quirked upward as he gently squeezed her little paw.

Before her father came home, Ruan Shu had already transformed back into her human toddler form, wearing a cute little white tiger onesie.

Ruan Fengsi looked at it with a scowl, pinching the tiger tail with a look of disdain.

“Why isn’t it black? Black would look way more impressive!”

Ruan Shu held her cup of milk juice, nibbling on the straw. With her tiger hat on, only her delicate, soft, and chubby little white face was visible—adorable enough to make anyone want to take a bite.

Ruan Fengsi was thoroughly dissatisfied with the color of that outfit.

Ruan Shu lightly swung her little feet, clad in fluffy slippers.

“Daddy bought it for me, and it didn’t seem like they had any black ones there,” she explained in a soft voice, then continued sipping her milk juice.

Immediately, Ruan Fengsi contacted his assistant and sent a photo of Ruan Shu in her current outfit.

Ruan Fengsi: “This kind of outfit she’s wearing—get me ten sets, all in black!”

Assistant: ………

Ruan Fengsi: “I’ll double your bonus.”

Assistant: “Understood, Mr. Ruan! No problem, Mr. Ruan!”

Also, Mr. Ruan’s little sister looked absolutely adorable in that outfit—so cute!

“What are you looking at?”

A female secretary, one who was on good terms with him, came over and patted him on the shoulder. She took a casual glance at his screen and then couldn’t look away.

“Whoa, is that the boss’s little sister? Let me see!”

She was immediately overwhelmed by the cuteness. “Her little face is too perfect! And you can tell this photo was taken by Mr. Ruan himself from that horribly unflattering angle, yet it still looks amazing!”

In her excitement, she accidentally blurted out that Mr. Ruan was an unrepentant straight man.

But that wasn’t important—after all, he couldn’t hear them anyway. The photo was the main thing.

“Quick, quick, send it to me!”

She was already imagining dressing up the little cutie. Ahh… changing her outfits would be such a joy! Making her look pretty every day and carrying her around would be a source of pride and accomplishment.

But unfortunately, this adorable bundle of joy belonged to someone else.

The female secretary thought, ‘I’d love to steal her away from Mr. Ruan! He’s such a straight-laced, harsh guy with a sharp tongue. Won’t his little sister be scared to tears by him?’

“Achoo…”

Ruan Fengsi sneezed, and Ruan Shu immediately looked over.

“Did you catch a cold, brother?”

Ruan Fengsi chuckled disdainfully. “How could that be? Your big brother only gets injured in battle—a small cold would never touch me!”

He was incredibly confident in his physical strength.

Ruan Shu made a small sound of understanding and returned to cuddling her stuffed cat while watching cartoons, her little head bobbing unconsciously to the music.

Ruan Fengsi opened his communicator, thinking that his friends were probably cursing him for not replying.

Sure enough, as soon as he opened it, he saw a stream of notifications, each tagging him.

He scrolled through the chat history and realized that someone had taken pictures of him and his little sister.

The group chat was filled with screenshots taken from a distance but with clear enough quality to show his little sister grooming him, and later, her napping on him.

And now it was trending?

Several people in the chat were tagging him non-stop, asking if that was really his sister. Judging from their tone, they couldn’t hide their jealousy.

Meanwhile, a few others looked on in disbelief at the trending news on StarNet.

Since the incident had been live-streamed, and the broadcaster hadn’t yet uploaded a recorded version, only screenshots were circulating online. The hype wasn’t as high as before, but it still ranked third.

At the First Military Academy, Ruan Ling’an was known for staying out of these gossip and entertainment topics. Outside of training, his idea of relaxation was gaming. He had earned a reputation at school as a dedicated and disciplined student.

After a long session in the training room, Ruan Ling’an came out dripping with sweat, took a shower, and was just about to start a game when he noticed his roommates huddled together, discussing something with unusual enthusiasm.

The moment they saw him, their eyes practically lit up.

The one who couldn’t hold back the most, Rong Jun, waggled his eyebrows and nudged him. “We saw your sister! No way, right? Your big brother and she seem really close.”

Ruan Ling’an frowned. “My big brother? Ruan Fengsi?”

Come to think of it, ever since his dad brought that little thing to visit him, quite some time had passed. He had even asked people at the neighboring school to look into it, and apparently, the little thing hadn’t been attending school.

Could his dad have been fooling him?
