Rebirth in the Interstellar Meow Meow Meow 109

Truly Nothing but a Pretty Face

Seeing the butler’s expression, Ruan Ling’an started to seriously wonder if everyone in this household had some kind of issue.

Ruan Shu’s hand wasn’t really that injured—she just experienced pain more intensely than others. When the needle first pricked her, the pain nearly brought tears to her eyes.

But after spraying some medicine and covering it with a bandage, it didn’t hurt as much anymore.

Besides, this little puncture wound couldn’t compare to even a tenth of the pain in her tail.

Her poor tail had been through a lot—not only was it threatened with a haircut, but it also got yanked quite forcefully. It still hurt even now.

The butler looked at her tear-stained red eyes and the tail she was holding, asking with both worry and sympathy, “What happened?”

Ruan Shu sniffled and, with a soft, slightly muffled voice, replied, “It’s fine. I accidentally pressed down on my tail… it hurt a little.”

Ruan Ling’an looked at her in surprise; he’d expected her to use this chance to complain.

But since he wasn’t one to deny his actions, he calmly remarked from the side, “I did it. I just pulled her tail a little—didn’t think she’d be this fragile.”

Ruan Shu: “…”

She puffed up her cheeks in annoyance, thinking, How about I step on your tail and see how you like it?

It really hurts when your tail’s injured!

Of course, this little bit of temper from her soft demeanor didn’t bother Ruan Ling’an in the slightest.

However, the butler was now looking at him with a reproachful expression, as if to say, ‘Young master, how could you do that?’

Ruan Ling’an scratched his nose, feeling a little guilty after all.

Not that he felt he was wrong—bullying the weak wasn’t his style, especially one so delicate. Was there a genetic mutation in the family? His father somehow ended up with such a “Please bully me” little creature.

Ruan Shu was also sneaking glances at Ruan Ling’an. This brother was even scarier than her older brother; every time he appeared, she ended up hurt. The first time, her finger had a new puncture wound that bled, and the second time, her tail bone was nearly broken. Ruan Shu felt like she and this brother just couldn’t get along.

She quickly tidied up the items on the table, looking eagerly at the butler before following him indoors.

But, with her gentle and polite nature, she carefully raised her head and said in a soft voice, “Third Brother, I’m going in now.”

After saying this, she turned her fluffy little head away and refused to look at him, her short legs scurrying to keep up with the butler.

Ruan Ling’an propped his chin on his hand, watching her retreating figure. Does this little thing really have no temper at all?

Once back inside, the butler tenderly checked Ruan Shu’s tail. After confirming it was fine, he went about his own tasks.

Ruan Shu, setting aside her fluffy ball for a while, began her online classes, carefully taking notes with her pen and notebook.

Ruan Ling’an had gone out, but when he returned, it was almost dinnertime. He walked in carrying a bottle of wine, a hint of aggression about him… and even a wound.

Ruan Shu glanced over, then quickly looked away, then glanced back once more.

“What are you staring at?” he asked, settling down across from her. He placed the bottle of obviously expensive wine on the table, leaning back with a touch of arrogance.

He’d left perfectly fine but returned covered in injuries.

His hair was disheveled, seemingly stained with blood, a noticeable bruise marked his face, and his clothes were a mess. Even his arms and legs were scraped and bleeding.

Ruan Shu’s eyes were wide, filled with worry as she looked at him. But when he scowled at her, she instantly shrank back, clutching a stuffed toy cat to shield her face.

Ruan Ling’an’s gaze fell on the plush cat she was holding, especially its ears and tail—they looked oddly familiar.

So delicate and harmless, with no hint of aggression.

He raised an eyebrow, chuckling softly. Could her star-beast form really be as useless as that?

Truly, nothing but a pretty face.

Ruan Shu lowered her stuffed cat, revealing half of her furry little head, her blue eyes peeking at him. Suddenly, she jumped off the couch and ran.

Ruan Ling’an didn’t pay much attention; he was busy replying to messages.

Rong Jun: Holy crap, man, you seriously went out just to settle the score with those guys?

Rong Jun: Why didn’t you tell us earlier? We would’ve gone with you! Taking on twenty people alone—isn’t that a bit reckless?

Rong Jun: You didn’t get hurt, did you?

He Qi: Impressive. Word already spread to the school; you sent a bunch of them to the hospital. You alright?

An Lan: No way you’re unscathed, but probably still better off than those twenty.

Rong Jun: Honestly, they had it coming. Those punks needed a lesson. Remember the last live combat exercise? They acted all high and mighty, provoked us, even set up some of us. We lost a few good people because of them.

An Lan: So how did you find out they were at the Beiqing Club? You didn’t even tell us.

He Qi: Yeah, treating us like we’re not your brothers, huh?

Leaning back in his chair, Ruan Ling’an lazily replied:

Ruan Ling’an: You’re overthinking it. I was just out to buy some wine, happened to run into them.

He was the vengeful type—usually settling his grudges on the spot. But even after revenge, he never forgot, always making sure the other party submitted.

Many people called him a madman for this, but Ruan Ling’an didn’t care. A madman? So be it.

Today, he went to the Beiqing Club to pick up some wine and happened to pass an open private room door. Familiar voices drifted out, gossiping about him and his brothers.

The mockery and insults were unfiltered, and Ruan Ling’an wasn’t one to let such things slide. He picked up his bottle and strolled in with a menacing air.

What happened next was predictable. Despite being alone, he still managed to send over twenty of them to the hospital.

But he hadn’t come out unscathed. Injured, he’d left the scene before the star police arrived, strolling away with a hint of pride.

Feeling a bit tired from the fight, he finally sat down to rest.

After chatting with his roommates for a bit, Ruan Ling’an was about to get up to take a shower and treat his wounds when he saw his timid little sister approach, arms full of supplies.

Ruan Shu glanced at her third brother, hesitated under his gaze for just a second, then resolutely took one step after another until she reached him.

“What are you doing?” Ruan Ling’an’s voice was a little raspy, carrying an inexplicable magnetism.

Without answering, Ruan Shu placed all the items in her arms onto the table, gave him a quick glance, pursed her lips, and then hurried off to the kitchen.

Ruan Ling’an looked down at the items on the table—various ointments for treating injuries and some bandages for dressing wounds.

There was only one person in the house with injuries: him. It was clear who these things were meant for.

He was a bit taken aback. Despite him bullying her to the point of tears, she still brought these things for him. Was she trying to win his favor, or was she really just this soft-hearted and without a temper?

As he pondered, leaning back in his chair, he watched as the little girl slowly returned from the kitchen, carrying a basin of hot water. She came over and stopped in front of him.
