Rebirth in the Interstellar Meow Meow Meow 148

Something’s Definitely Not Right, She Can’t Be His Daughter

After tidying up everything on the table and going downstairs, Ruan Shu spent some time attending online classes. Her grandfather then accompanied her to play in the private amusement park he had set up just for her.

In the small private amusement park, Ruan Shu slid down a tall, long slide, with her grandfather waiting at the bottom, transformed into his star beast form and crouched near the exit.

As she came down, she landed softly, snuggled in his large tiger-like fur, feeling no pain at all.

“One more time!”

Ruan Shu smiled sweetly, nodding obediently, and climbed back up the ladder by herself.

“Grandpa, I’m coming down now!”

A soft, childlike voice echoed from above. Ruan He let out a low growl in response, signaling that he was ready.

She slid down from the very top, winding around several twists, feeling a bit of thrill but no fear. Her eyes sparkled brightly as she finally tumbled back onto her grandfather.

“Let’s go play on the swings.”

After trying out all the play equipment in the amusement park, a thin layer of sweat had formed on Ruan Shu’s body.

“Alright, that’s enough for today. Let’s take a break.”

Although his granddaughter looked a bit tired, her eyes were bright and lively, making her all the more adorable. Ruan He couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment—turns out, he’s pretty good at taking care of kids!

Back home, she used a dry towel to wipe away the sweat, and the butler handed her a cup of milk-berry juice.

“Thank you, Grandpa Butler.”

She thanked him in a soft, sweet voice, holding the milk-berry juice and sitting on a small stool, drinking intently.

“Grandpa, can I go find Big Brother?”

Ruan He readily agreed, as long as it wasn’t Almer she was going to see.

“Of course, let’s take a little break first, and Grandpa will take you.”

Not only did Ruan Shu want to visit, but she also wanted to bring something for Big Brother. After a moment of thought, she ran off to the kitchen to make some pastries.

However, most of the special berries at home had already been eaten. With so many people in the house and Ruan Shu sharing them daily, only a few blackberries were left now.

She tapped the vine on her wrist. “We’re almost out of blackberries. When will you grow more?”

This mutated blackberry vine was a bit peculiar. She had tried to plant it back into the soil, but it always squirmed its way back out, even shaking off the dirt in a disdainful manner, insisting on staying on her wrist.

Ever since she brought it back, if she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes as it grew larger and anchored itself, she would have thought it was just a regular vine.

At that moment, the little vine twitched its tip, and suddenly, its whole body started growing longer.

“Wow!!!”

As the blackberry vine extended out of her hand, growing longer and larger and even sprouting leaves, it climbed up the wall and onto the ceiling chandelier. Finally, it hung down like the branches of a willow tree, making Ruan Shu’s eyes widen in amazement.

Her voice drew her grandfather over.

“What’s going on… what…?”

When he saw the blackberry vine spreading in the kitchen, he was momentarily speechless.

What… what in the world was this? Could someone explain to him if this mutated blackberry vine had come to life?

And it didn’t stop there; the blackberry vine had started blooming!

Tiny white flowers appeared, looking rather charming.

Ruan Shu was surrounded by the vines, and several delicate white flowers drifted down, landing softly in her hands.

Who would’ve thought this little vine had a flair for romance?

Then, as if performing for an audience, the other flowers began to wither and bear fruit, and the tiny green berries grew larger at a visible pace, eventually ripening into fresh, fragrant blackberries, each as big as a child’s fist.

A rich, fresh aroma filled the air.

Ruan Shu stood there, mouth and eyes wide open, too stunned to react.

The vine moved again. With a few quick twists, it plucked several thin tendrils from itself, weaving them into a basket. Then, one by one, it dropped the berries into the basket, delivering it to the delicate, fair-skinned girl.

Ruan Shu accepted it, still a little dazed. “Th-thank you.”

She had only casually asked when it would bear fruit, never expecting it to perform the entire process of flowering and fruiting on the spot.

Apart from that one encounter in the forest with Almer, she’d always assumed this blackberry vine had regressed in intelligence and was now just a cute, clingy little pet that liked to act spoiled.

Who knew… this little vine was actually so impressive!

After delivering the basket of berries to Ruan Shu, the large blackberry vine began to shrink visibly, transforming back into the ordinary little vine that loved to cling to her wrist.

Only now, the tiny vine twisted its body, lifting its tip like a snake’s head, seeming to “look” at her with an unmistakable desire for praise.

She set the basket aside, patted the little vine, then lifted it and gave it a quick kiss.

“You’re amazing!”

The little vine “!!!”

It… it… it got kissed!

In a flash, the vine seemed to surge with excitement, growing rapidly once more and filling the entire kitchen, blooming and bearing fruit all over again.

Ruan Shu “!!!”

Ruan He “!!!”

Ruan Shu’s small hands fidgeted helplessly. “You—you have to stop!”

Silently, Ruan He sent a video of the scene to his son.

Ruan He: So, is this mutated blackberry vine the one that’s unusual, or is something not quite normal with our Shushu?

After watching the video, Ruan Xiao: “….”

There’s no way his daughter is the odd one out!

After producing two full rounds of blackberries, the vine finally stopped, as if it had exhausted all its energy, and wilted slightly.

Ruan Shu quickly scooped it up, holding it in her hands as she looked around at the blackberries nearly filling the entire kitchen. Silence fell over her.

Ruan He, having seen all kinds of things in his many years, was also speechless.

Everyone knew that mutated plants had an innate instinct to bear fruit—it was embedded in their genes. But they still followed seasonal cycles, only flowering and fruiting at the right time of year.

Because fruit production consumed their energy, if not driven by genetic instinct, these plants would not voluntarily bear fruit. They might not eat their own fruit, but they’d protect it, as it represented an expenditure of their energy. They would hardly let others get it so easily.

But…

What he’d just witnessed defied all common understanding.

A mutated plant willingly pouring its energy into accelerated flowering and fruiting? That kind of behavior required an immense amount of energy—going against natural growth cycles. Yet, this particular vine seemed completely unconcerned, using all its energy to produce so much fruit.

And all of this… was because of his beloved granddaughter.

Just because his granddaughter had kissed the vine, it had responded as if on a sugar rush, growing wildly in excitement.

Ruan He looked at his granddaughter in awe. Could it be that his little granddaughter really had such an extraordinary charm?

Meanwhile, the young girl, who’d never seen anything like this, was utterly bewildered and at a complete loss.
