Rebirth in the Interstellar Meow Meow Meow 261

Consistently Poor Grades

These little troublemakers!

Honestly, they always seem to have an excuse for everything.

However, Teacher Lu Lu also messaged him afterward to explain the child’s situation. Truthfully, he was quite pleased to see the class actively helping to bring one of their own back. It even surprised him a bit.

When did these kids learn to help each other?

And that new kid, right? Today was her first day at school, yet she was already blending in so well. She even had so many classmates waiting for her, running back together with her. This little one seems quite impressive.

He knew that students who join a class mid-term are usually met with exclusion, making it difficult for them to integrate quickly.

After all, young ones are naturally territorial; it’s an instinct embedded in their genes.

“Alright, take a break and then we’ll begin the next set of tests.”

Sure enough, as Dora had mentioned earlier, there were several parts to this test.

The first test was for strength.

The teacher led them over to a testing machine, and they lined up.

“You all know the rules by now, but I’ll repeat them for those who are new. This is a strength tester. Each of you will come up, and hit the red button with all your might…”

Ruan Shu stood in the middle of the line, carefully noting the teacher’s instructions.

The test began, and since they were all in their juvenile human forms, the first student stepped up and struck the button with a small fist.

With a loud bang, the display numbers shot up and finally settled on 200.

“Rowan, strength score 200. Next.”

“Mark, strength score 220. Next.”

“Cai Yun, strength score 200. Next.”

One by one, the line moved forward until it was Dora’s turn.

Dora was from the Elephant Clan, known for their immense strength due to their physique. The small girl raised her fist and punched down.

Bang!

A loud crash followed, and everyone stared at the display as the numbers rocketed up, eventually halting at an astonishing height.

“Dora, strength score 500!”

This was the highest score so far; most other students hadn’t broken the 400 mark.

“Not bad, seems like you’ve been practicing at home.”

Dora puffed out her chest with pride. “Of course! I arm-wrestle my brother every day at home!”

The gym teacher chuckled. “Alright, go stand to the side. Next up, Xiong Yuanyuan.”

This one was another heavy-hitter, though notoriously lazy most of the time.

Xiong Yuanyuan slowly walked over to the testing device, then lifted her hand and slapped it down.

Clang…

In no time, another score of five hundred appeared.

“Wow… Yuanyuan’s strength has increased too.”

“Of course! Pandas are pretty strong, and their claws are super sharp. My mom says panda claws are even tougher than knives.”

“Xiong Yuanyuan, strength level: 500. Next.”

The gym teacher glanced at the small, frail-looking Ruan Shu, who appeared so weak and pitiful.

Ruan Shu gazed back at him, equally expectant.

Mr. Li coughed, softening under her gaze. “Ruan Shu, don’t feel pressured. Your homeroom teacher already informed me about your situation. Just give it a light try.”

Ruan Shu softly replied, “Alright.”

She clenched her fist, gathering her strength, and struck down with all she had.

Splat…

The screen finally showed a value of—30.

Teacher: “…”

Ruan Shu: “…”

Classmates: “…”

The room was eerily silent.

Ruan Shu clutched her hand, tears welling up from the pain.

Her hand had turned red, and she truly hadn’t held back at all.

But… that glaringly bright 30 on the screen was impossible to ignore.

The gym teacher’s face contorted a bit. In all his years teaching, he’d never seen such an astonishingly low score.

“You…”

He initially wanted to ask if she hadn’t given her best effort, but his eyes landed on her reddened hand and the tears brimming but stubbornly refusing to fall.

Forget it; better not push this kid any further.

“Come over here, it’s okay. You’ll get better with practice over time.”

Ruan Shu nodded, sniffled, and softly thanked him.

“Thank you, teacher.”

Despite her delicateness, she was incredibly polite. Even though her stamina and scores weren’t great, the gym teacher could tell she’d genuinely given her all—whether during the run earlier or this test now.

The results just weren’t very ideal.

And so, the other tests continued.

Ruan Shu’s speed was a bit better, but she still came in last—not just in the class, but likely the entire school couldn’t find anyone slower than her.

The only “excellent” part was that her scores were consistently poor across the board.

Ruan Shu: QAQ

The endurance test during the earlier run had already given the teacher a clear idea of her capabilities.

Then came the jumping test.

Surprisingly, Ruan Shu didn’t come in dead last in this one.

She was second-to-last, with Xiong Yuanyuan taking the bottom spot.

Even Dora, as bulky as she was, managed to jump higher than Ruan Shu.

The gym teacher glanced at Xiong Yuanyuan, whose drowsy, stumbling steps suggested she was about to fall asleep, and couldn’t help but get frustrated.

“Can’t you at least put in some effort? Even Ruan Shu jumped higher than you!”

Ruan Shu: _( : _」∠)_

Xiong Yuanyuan let out a groggy grunt, “I’m hungry.”

Gym teacher: “…”

“There’s just one last test—flexibility.”

Hearing this, several students immediately bolted, running off in all directions.

Dora was among them.

A massive elephant testing for flexibility? What a joke!

It seemed the gym teacher had anticipated this reaction from the students; he simply clapped his hands.

Out of nowhere, a group of robots appeared, capturing the kids who were attempting to escape.

Thus, a massive game of tag began.

“You few, come up and test first.”

The ones who stayed put tended to have decent flexibility.

The test was simple: splits followed by a series of stretches.

In advanced grades, they would start learning martial arts, many of which required a combination of strength, agility, and flexibility.

So, flexibility was also an essential skill.

For Ruan Shu, being a cat-type, this was by far the easiest of all the tests.

After all, cats can be so flexible they can turn themselves into a puddle of “liquid cat.”

This time, she passed with ease, even receiving a compliment from the teacher.

Ruan Shu finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Thank goodness—she hadn’t finished last in everything.

Ruan Shu relaxed inwardly, already mentally prepared to rank at the bottom of the school for the rest of the test scores.

Once the current group finished their tests, it was time for those who had been brought back by the robots.

In an attempt to resist, Dora had shifted into her star beast form while running, but in the end, the robots still managed to carry her back.

With a huge thud, her weight shook the ground slightly.

“Change back and start the test.”

Dora: Not listening, not listening…

When faced with these stubbornly unwilling students, the teachers never indulged them.

And so, Ruan Shu once again witnessed an impressive transformation.

The gym teacher transformed into a massive, fierce gray bear, baring rows of sharp teeth and roaring at the students with full force.
