Ruan Fengsi indeed slowed down, but Ruan Shu was unaware of this.
Seeing that her brother wasn’t as fierce anymore, she quietly said she’d be hanging up.
“Brother, focus on driving; don’t get distracted. I’ll hang up now, okay?”
“Mm.”
Finally ending the video call, she let out a gentle breath.
Yu Huan, meanwhile, had resumed his game, legs crossed and looking as carefree as ever.
“Why are you so afraid of your brother? Then again, you’re naturally timid. Your brother looks really fierce—he doesn’t hit kids, does he?”
After speaking, Yu Huan smacked his own forehead, “What am I saying? Are there even any adults among you Star Beast Clan who don’t hit kids? But you’re different, Shushu. If he dares to hit you, just come to me—I’ll protect you!”
He patted his chest, looking every bit the dependable friend.
Ruan Shu pressed her lips into a smile, a soft glimmer in her clear eyes.
“Big Brother just looks fierce, but he’s actually very nice.”
He shouldn’t hit her, right?
“Yu Huan, why did you come out here?”
Wasn’t he supposed to be in the kitchen?
Yu Huan sounded rather proud, “I almost tore the kitchen apart, so your brother and mine kicked me out.”
Ruan Shu: “…”
Was that really something to be proud of?
While waiting for the pastries, Ruan Shu sent her father her usual daily message, and then her big brother arrived.
The young man’s head was wrapped in bandages, his expression unreadable, his aura exuding dominance and strength.
Yu Huan took one look and said, “Whoa, no way I can take him in a fight!”
He had just promised to protect Ruan Shu, but comparing his own frame to Ruan Fengsi’s, he could only sigh.
If only he had been born a little earlier! Then he could’ve built a physique like that and never backed down from a fight.
“Big Brother~”
Ruan Shu’s eyes sparkled as she called out in a sweet, childlike voice, even wanting to run over to him.
But as soon as her foot touched the ground, Ruan Fengsi took two quick strides forward and scooped her up.

Yu Huan bounced around cheerfully, “He’s saying you’re silly, Ruan Shu.”

The young man cast an unfriendly glance over. “Who’s he?”
Ruan Shu quietly answered, fidgeting with her little paws, “Brother Yu Huan, Brother Qingran’s friend.”
Ruan Fengsi corrected her, “Don’t go calling everyone ‘Brother.’ Just use his name; it’s too familiar and impolite for a first meeting.”
Yu Huan bristled, “I like it when Ruan Shu calls me ‘Brother’!”
Ruan Fengsi sneered, “Who’s your sister? What does a fish like you have to do with our family? Don’t try to make fake family connections.”
Yu Huan, already a hot-tempered young man, immediately started jumping around, ranting under his breath. He didn’t curse directly; even though he was young, he knew to watch himself in front of Ruan Shu. Hadn’t he twisted his words a dozen times while cursing his gaming opponents earlier?
Holding his little sister, Ruan Fengsi looked on coldly, then finally spat out a few condescending words.
“Immature brat.”

He was cursing in his head but didn’t dare say it out loud, feeling so stifled that he was about to explode like an overinflated pufferfish.
“What’s a grown man doing arguing with a child?”
Ruan Qingran came out holding a plate of fragrant coconut crisps.
Ruan Fengsi shot him a glare. This sly, scheming dog—he’d actually managed to spirit Ruan Shu away while he was in a meeting!
Looking down at the little one nestled against him, he thought of the letter she’d written him and the snacks she’d left behind.
What could his little sister have done wrong? So clearly, the one in the wrong was that insincere snake!
“Tonight, you’re sleeping with me at home.”
Ruan Shu blinked at him in confusion, while Ruan Qingran paused and looked over as well.
Ruan Fengsi remained completely unapologetic.
“I need to renovate your room.”
Ruan Shu tilted her head, puzzled. “But my room is already really nice.”
At first, her room hadn’t had many things, but it had all the essentials. Later, Grandpa butler had gradually added more items, each one thoughtfully chosen. To her, it was the best room in the world.
Ruan Fengsi’s tone was firm, almost overbearing. “There are a few areas that need fixing up. Until it’s done, you’ll sleep next to me.”
As he spoke, he even gave Ruan Qingran a defiant look.
Ruan Qingran’s lips curled into a smile, though it had a distinctly chilly edge.
“With a mansion as big as the Marshal’s, is there really no other room available?”
Ruan Fengsi replied with righteous confidence, “There are rooms, but they haven’t been prepared.”
“Then let the butler prepare one.”
Ruan Fengsi shot him a look that said, Why are you being so unreasonable?
“The butler already has plenty to do, so why bother him with such a small task? Besides, once Ruan Shu’s room is renovated, she’ll be back in there.”
After finishing his statement, he looked directly at Ruan Shu and asked, “What do you think?”
Without much of her own opinion, the soft little bundle instinctively nodded, but she had a nagging feeling that Brother Qingran might be upset. Wait, why did she agree so quickly? Wouldn’t she be too nervous to sleep properly next to her big brother?
Despite her inner conflict, Ruan Fengsi unilaterally decided on the arrangement.
Yu Sheng, holding a piece of coconut crisp, watched with keen interest as the two brothers squared off, feeding Ruan Shu while observing the rising tension.
Suddenly, Yu Huan, oblivious as ever, chimed in, “If you guys don’t feel like preparing a room, our house has one! Why not let Ruan Shu stay over at my place tonight?”

Yu Huan: “…”
Well, it looked like he was the only one left feeling wounded.
Wait—weren’t these two just arguing a moment ago? How did they suddenly team up to shut him down?
The coconut crisp was fragrant and satisfyingly crunchy, and the more she ate, the more she craved. The sweetness was just right, perfectly suiting her taste.
Ruan Shu, holding a small handful of crisps, ate one herself, then offered one to her big brother and another to Brother Qingran.
“What about me, what about me?” Yu Huan eagerly leaned in, mouth open, waiting for his cute little sister to feed him.
Ruan Fengsi grabbed a few crisps and tossed them into Yu Huan’s mouth. “Eat up and scram. You’re a grown man—getting a little girl to feed you. Ever heard of propriety?”
He was just short of saying Yu Huan was shameless.
Grumbling to himself, Yu Huan backed off. Sure, you’re her big brother—think you’re so great!
Meanwhile, the other coconut treats were finally ready: coconut rolls, coconut jelly, coconut bread, coconut cookies, and coconut milk. None of the coconut fruit or juice had gone to waste.
Ruan Fengsi eyed the array of coconut-based goodies. “Did you guys go rob a mutated coconut tree or something?”
At this, Yu Huan’s enthusiasm reignited. Even now, he could hardly believe it himself.
“Seven mutated coconuts! Guess where we got them from?”
Seeing Yu Huan’s mysterious expression, Ruan Fengsi was blunt as ever. “Not interested in guessing.”
Yu Huan: … Is this guy no fun or what?
“Really not curious? I guarantee the answer will knock your socks off.”
The CEO was as impenetrable as ever; if he said he wasn’t guessing, he wasn’t guessing.
In the end, Yu Huan failed to maintain his mysterious act and was left frustrated and deflated.
