Rebirth in the Interstellar Meow Meow Meow 250

Is it Possible That Something That Disappeared Still Exists?

“They already had a dwindling population of just a few hundred thousand due to Blue Star’s circumstances, but then they were struck by an interstellar war between cosmic races.”

“Humanity and the beings of Blue Star, weak in all respects, were ultimately swept into oblivion. The only traces they left in the universe are some delicious foods, beautiful clothes, and a few incomplete books.”

Ruan Shu clung tightly to the butler, her lips pressed together, emotions stirring deeply within her.

She looked blankly at the person before her. So, Blue Star did exist in this world; she hadn’t crossed dimensions but rather traveled through time to arrive in the future?

“Then… does that mean there are no humans left at all? And what about Blue Star?”

The handsome man with golden hair extended his hand to her. “Come here, child.”

Despite his youthful face, Ruan Shu sensed a kind and nurturing presence from him.

She hesitated only a few seconds before carefully placing her delicate hand in his.

Long Chen’s eyes held a warm gleam as he pulled the little one into his arms. Though he wasn’t entirely sure why, he felt a surprising sense of familiarity with this child and was willing to share some ancient history from the Dragon Clan’s memory inheritance.

“Pure-blooded humans are definitely gone, but some traces of their lineage remain through mixed descendants with other races. Yet, after so much time, even those human bloodlines are quite diluted.”

“And as for Blue Star…”

Long Chen’s eyes showed a touch of nostalgia. “It was a beautiful planet. One could say that humanity’s own actions hastened its decline—the damage to the environment, the wars—they all accelerated that planet’s decay.”

“But it was magnificent. It held out until most of the humans and other species on Blue Star left to explore the universe. Afterward, no one saw it again. Even our Dragon Clan couldn’t find any trace of it.”

As for the Star Beasts of today, most were natural inhabitants of the universe, though some had arrived from Blue Star. By the humans of that time, they might have been referred to as demons or monsters.

Over time, perhaps influenced by these creatures, other beasts in the universe began to undergo similar evolution.

The theory that the Star Beasts and the ancestor of exotic beasts share a common origin is not wrong. During the process of evolution, some beasts became capable of transforming into human forms, while others failed and became exotic beasts.

However, only those ancient creatures, who have lived for tens of thousands of years or those with inherited memories, would know of this history.

Ruan Shu curled her fingers and murmured softly, “If it disappeared, could it still somehow exist?”

Though her voice was faint, the keen-eared old dragon heard her.

Long Chen chuckled. “Perhaps. That planet was the smallest yet the most mysterious and grand I have ever seen.”

On that planet, so many wondrous creatures and stories were born. It was truly extraordinary, though in the end, it couldn’t escape a planet’s inevitable fate.

Just like them. No matter how long they live, they too would eventually face death.

Long Chen gently patted Ruan Shu’s soft hair. “Come to think of it, Blue Star fell into full decline not long after the appearance of those mysterious X pollutants. It sent many of its children out, yet disappeared completely from the universe without anyone noticing. Back then, no one paid much attention to those X pollutants, but who could have imagined…”

A trace of sorrow lingered in Long Chen’s expression. “The downfall and death of Blue Star was more like a warning to us. Sadly, those pollutants seemed to emerge from nowhere; no one could find their source. By the time people realized, the whole universe was affected, and no efforts could halt it.”

“Why are you telling so much to a kid? Do you think she understands?”

The voice that interrupted was from Karl, with his strikingly brilliant hair. He was handsome as well, though his features had a more Western character.

Mishu, with green hair, appeared to be of mixed heritage, blending East and West in his looks with a refined, gentle elegance in his demeanor.

“I-I can understand…”

Ruan Shu murmured in a very small voice, clutching Long Chen’s arm tightly, not daring to show her face, with just a little tuft of her fluffy head peeking out.

“Stop scaring her,” Mishu said, shooting a disdainful glance at the red dragon.

Karl, seeing how the little one looked so fragile and seemed genuinely frightened by him, scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. He took a fruit out of his storage space and handed it to Ruan Shu.

“Here, eat this. If you eat it, you’re not allowed to be scared of me anymore.”

The other two dragons: “…”

With that fierce tone, maybe it’s best you step aside…

The butler, feeling the intense presence of the three dragons, looked longingly at the young lady in the golden dragon elder’s arms, desperately hoping he’d return her to him. Only the heavens knew how weak in the knees he felt, standing there as an ordinary Star Beast among these three powerful dragons.

“You can leave for now. We’ll look after the little one,” Mishu suggested, sensing the butler’s dilemma. Though he seemed considerate, Mishu’s words conveyed his natural dominance. He was very much the one in charge.

The butler felt a chill of anxiety under the gaze of these three influential dragons. Looking at the young lady, though clearly nervous in front of these strangers, she didn’t seem to feel any bloodline pressure. But his back was soaked in cold sweat.

He hesitated, then finally decided to leave—to call the family head!

Ruan Shu looked at the oversized fruit the red-haired man handed her, still curling up in Long Chen’s embrace without reaching for it. Whether it was due to her past life in her homeland, she felt an innate affinity for the Eastern dragon.

The three dragons could sense this as well. Watching the adorable and well-behaved little one, these elder dragons, who hadn’t seen a new dragon egg born on Dragon Island for hundreds of years (not counting Almer, who took centuries to hatch in his egg), couldn’t help but feel a fondness for this child.

They were a bit tempted to hold her.

But the little one seemed only interested in clinging to Long Chen.

Taking advantage of this, Long Chen pulled out various treasures to gift her.

Among them was a beautiful, intricately carved jade ball filled with a calming, refreshing fragrance.

He also offered her some exquisitely crafted porcelain vases, antiques that held a classic charm from the ancient Oriental culture of Blue Star, with colors and shapes rich in elegant, traditional beauty.

These were things almost entirely absent in the current interstellar universe.

There was also a large, radiant luminous pearl.

The dragons, both Eastern and Western, seemed to share a love for collecting treasures. While Western dragons tended to favor sparkling gems, pearls, and gold, the tastes of Eastern dragons leaned towards refined elegance, including fine jade, porcelain, and, of course, jewels. But their selection of jewels was notably more discerning—a trait the Western dragons teasingly called “overly refined.”
