9L: Wait, shouldn’t we be talking about how Ruan Ling’an’s type turns out to be the cute kind?
10L: He actually accepted a gift from a girl! This has never happened before. Unbelievable!
11L: Where’s the original poster? Keep going! What happened next? Do you know who the girl is? What grade is she in?
12L: I hate it when people leave a story halfway. If you start, then finish it!
13L: Hurry up, OP! Otherwise, if Ruan Ling’an sees this thread, it might just disappear.
…
After about thirty more posts, the original poster finally returned.
OP: Here I am, here I am! Stop rushing me; I was gathering more intel.
OP: The girl isn’t from our school; she’s from outside. But do you know the most important part? She was about to leave, but then…
Senior Ruan asked her to stay! He even asked if she wanted a tour of the school. She agreed, and I have to say, she’s super cute and pretty. You know the type—the kind with sparkling eyes when she talks?
Right now, Senior is showing her around, but she walks slowly while he’s going fast. Halfway through, he realized she was missing, turned around, and saw her pouting behind him.
Senior Ruan finally learned to wait for her and was shocked—then he picked her up in one swoop!
37L: Oh my gosh, a princess carry? I can’t believe Ruan Ling’an would be so considerate!
38L: OP, give us the location! Where are they? I’ll sprint there right now!
39L: I won’t believe it unless there are photos.
40L: I want to see who this girl is that charmed Ruan Ling’an enough for him to carry her!
41L: No rumors or gossip—OP, swear this is all true, or you’ll fail your exams.
42L: Location! If not, give us a picture. No pic, no proof. You’re just making this up.
OP: I swear, it’s all true. Otherwise, may I fail my exams.
…
60L: Holy… OP wasn’t lying. I saw it too!
Of course, some people saw the post and ran to find them. After catching a glimpse of Ruan Ling’an carrying the girl, they felt like strangling OP.
That sneaky devil! He didn’t lie, but he left out one very important detail.
Ruan Shu was holding onto her third brother’s neck, puzzled by the increasing crowd around them.
She tightened her grip a little, reassuring herself, “No worries, Shushu’s not afraid anymore!”
Meanwhile, Ruan Ling’an’s roommates also stumbled across the post.
“What the…!”
Rong Jun initially thought this post was just clickbait. After all, such posts had popped up plenty of times before, using Ruan Ling’an’s name as a headline but turning out to have nothing to do with him.
But after scrolling through this thread, he realized they were actually talking about his buddy.
And OP’s tone was so emphatic and confident that it was hard not to believe it!
“Guys, check out this post.”
Rong Jun immediately shared this news with the other two.
“Look, look! Gossip about Brother Ling! And it’s breaking news!”
The other two were instantly interested and quickly finished reading.
He Qi slapped the table, exclaiming, “Well, no wonder he hasn’t been replying to us! Turns out he’s off with a girl.”
Rong Jun seemed excited, “No way, no way! Has Brother Ling actually opened up to romance?”
An Lan suggested, “Why not just call and ask him directly?”
“No, don’t alert him. Let’s just ask where he is, then sneak over and catch him red-handed.”
Rong Jun chuckled, “I’ve got to see what kind of girl it is that’s got my buddy Brother Ling so charmed he’d pick her up.”
He Qi rubbed his arms as if feeling chills, “I can’t even imagine it.”
An Lan agreed, “That crazy guy? Carrying a girl? And in school? This feels a bit… off.”
Rong Jun checked his phone, “Got it! He’s near the supermarket. Let’s go!”
The three practically ran out of the dorm. They didn’t want to miss out on this thrilling event.
Because of their rush, they didn’t see that the post had been updated again.
103L: Damn it, you jerk of an OP! Could you be any more misleading?
104L: We’ve all been tricked. Here’s photographic proof.
105L: [Photo]
The photo, taken from behind, showed a tall and lean young man carrying a basket filled with cakes in one hand and holding a petite, doll-like girl in the other.
The girl, dressed in a light green dress, was leaning slightly on his shoulder, her arms around his neck. The photo captured the perfect moment—Ruan Shu was looking back with a bright gaze, half her face visible, her skin glowing in the soft light, her eyes clear and sparkling.
106L: Holy… This photo is amazing!
107L: We really got played! OP, you sneaky dog! You had us all fooled!
108L: He technically didn’t lie, just left out some crucial details (dog emoji).
109L: Hey, what did dogs do to deserve this? Can you all stop using “dog” as an insult? Us canines don’t deserve this slander!
110L: She’s so cute and pretty! I’m a college student, and even I feel like I’d want a daughter like this—can you believe it?
111L: So, what’s the relationship between these two?
112L: She looks kind of familiar.
Ruan Shu had previously trended online, but most of the posts had been taken down by Ruan Xiao. The most recent appearance was from a livestream where she was brushing Ruan Fengsi’s beast form, but it had been taken from a distance, so her face hadn’t been clearly shown.
Moreover, students at the First Military Academy were busy with their coursework and training, leaving them little time to browse social media. So, while some may have a vague sense of recognition, most couldn’t immediately place her.
However, that photo was stunning, and almost everyone still following the thread couldn’t resist saving it.
When Rong Jun and the other two arrived at the supermarket, they immediately spotted Ruan Ling’an at the checkout, holding a small child in his arms.
Rong Jun sighed, “Damn, we got tricked again.”
He Qi groaned, “All that excitement for nothing!”
An Lan pushed up his glasses thoughtfully. “Technically, it wasn’t really a trick. The original poster just left out a crucial piece of information.”
Like the fact that the girl in question was actually just a young child, only a few years old.
With the supermarket bustling with people, Ruan Shu instinctively snuggled closer into her brother’s arms, clinging to him with a slightly nervous expression, her lips pursed. She held a basket of pastries, while her brother was busy paying for a load of groceries—mostly food, as she had just noticed.
Why did it feel like everyone was looking at her and her third brother? Was it because he was so popular at school?
“Give it to me,” he said after finishing the checkout, reaching for her basket.
Ruan Shu looked at his hand, then held onto the basket with both of her small hands, refusing to let go.
“You’re already holding something, so let Shushu carry this.”
The basket was a bit heavy for her little arms, but surely she could manage for just a little while, right?
